Eastern Christian School welcomes back alumna Anneliese Kuipers as high school paraprofessional. A recent graduate, Anneliese earned a bachelor’s in English creative writing at William Paterson University.
I have lived in North Haledon for the majority of my life. After studying for two years at Calvin University, I returned to New Jersey to complete my degree at William Paterson University. I’ve worked part-time at a garden center since returning, and have developed a deep love for gardening and sustainability, especially in its relation to caring for God’s creation. I am continuously reminded of the poetry God has written into nature, and endeavor to capture it in my own writing every day. I regularly attend The Plant Church with my fiancé, Ben Parker. I am excited to return to Eastern Christian to share the same compassion and support I received as a student.
In May of 2023, I received a B.A. in English Creative Writing from William Paterson University. During my time there, I interned for the campus literary journal, Map Literary, where I gained experience in content editing and evaluating manuscripts. I believe God used my interest in writing processes to lead me to my current position at Eastern Christian.
When I look back at my own time as a student at ECHS, I am reminded of all the support and grace my teachers showed me. The faculty at Eastern Christian is committed to the belief that each student is uniquely made in the image of God; when unconditional love is at the foundation, students can flourish. This is a philosophy I want to be a part of.
